Footage of former Seven star, Andrew O’Keefe, yelling and screaming after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman has surfaced online.
On Tuesday, news.com.au reported that an incident occurred in Sydney’s CBD between O’Keefe and an unnamed woman. A spokesperson told the news site, “A verbal argument ensued between the pair before the man allegedly assaulted the woman – grabbing her by the throat, pushing her to the ground and punching her.
“The man allegedly assaulted the woman a second time – punching and kicking her – before she left the unit.”
Now, footage has made its way online of O’Keefe screaming, “I’m a victim of a crime,” and get these “fucking journalists away from me,” after being arrested and thrown into the back of a paddy wagon.

It’s pretty confronting footage, particularly when you consider this was the man that used to host some of Seven’s biggest shows including, The Chase, Deal Or No Deal and Weekend Sunrise.
Sydney Morning Herald has reported that O’Keefe has now been charged with six offences, including intentional choking and common assault.
Just waiting for half as much outrage over Andrew O’Keefe choking, punching and kicking a woman, as there was over Grace Tame not smiling.

Of course, this isn’t the first time O’Keefe has been accused of assaulting a woman. 9news reported that in 2021 he was accused of kicking and spitting on his then partner but a court ultimately dismissed the charges on mental health grounds.
SMH also reported that he allegedly attacked his ex-partner because she accused him of carrying an ice pipe in his pocket to a party, he denied these allegations.
Perhaps, what makes this story even more troubling is that O’Keefe was previously known for his work as an ambassador for The White Ribbon association and advocated and spoke at many events for the end of violence against women.
In 2021, Chanel Seven chose not to renew its contract with O’Keefe after seventeen years with the station.
