Things are getting creative over at Folk with news the branding and design agency has hired James Welch into the design director role.
Hailing from then UK, Welch has 15 years in the design industry.
After three years as a junior at The Brand Union in London, he moved to FutureBrand where he spent four years working as a senior designer for clients such as HM Revenue & Customs, Mittal Steel, DataCopy, Unilever Ice Cream and Nokia Nseries.
He’s moved to Sydney since and worked as a freelance creative and was as the design lead for The Commonwealth Bank. And now joins Folk.
Throughout his career, James has always believed that great ideas can be powerful, engaging tools when they’re grounded in strong strategic thinking. They can change the way people think, solve business problems and help give companies and staff a sense of purpose. They can even make people smile. And for him, that’s the really fun part.
“We are delighted that James is joining our team here,” said Graham Barton, creative director at Folk.
“James is a talented and broad-shouldered brand identity designer, with considerable experience including The Brand Union, Futurebrand (London), Moon and Re; Sydney.
“Seriously. We are over the moon James is joining (and he seems jolly keen too). Exciting!”
