Filtered Media Launches New Podcast Chats With Big Name CMOs

Australia’s pioneering storytelling agency Filtered Media has launched The CMO Show, a business podcast that’s already attracted some of marketing’s biggest names including Andy Lark, CMO at Xero; Robert Rose, chief strategy officer at the Content Marketing Institute; and Pandora Radio’s ANZ marketing director, Nicole McInnes.

The podcast reaches more than 25,000 marketers across the globe via its presence on iTunes, SoundCloud, Filtered Media’s blog and syndication on Adobe’s digital marketing magazine, CMO.com.

The CMO Show is co-hosted by Mark Jones and Jeanne-Vida Douglas, senior business and technology journalists and editors.

The podcast’s mission is to offer fresh insights about brand storytelling and the future of marketing. Each episode features an upbeat discussion of emerging trends and revealing interviews with global thought leaders.

With more than 15 years industry experience, Jones is a former IT Editor at The Australian Financial Review. Today he is chief storyteller and CEO at Filtered Media, an integrated content marketing and PR agency in Sydney.

Douglas, a former BRW editor, multi-award winning journalist and author, is Filtered Media’s editorial director. Both share a passion for digital disruption and extraordinary storytelling.

“Podcasting is back in a big way,” said Jones, whose love of podcasting began with the highly successful Fairfax podcast The Scoop, which ran for more than four years in the late 2000s, attracting more than 10,000 listeners a month to make it one of the top five business podcasts on iTunes at the time.

“We’re seeing a resurgence thanks to mobile, 4G networks and people looking for in-depth content in niche areas that can be consumed on demand. Then you’ve got the commuting issue – anything that makes traffic gridlock and long bus or train rides easier has to be a winner,” he quipped.

“I’m passionate about telling people’s stories, and finding out what drives and excites them,” said Douglas. “The CMO Show is a chance to find out how business and marketing leaders take their personal passion into their professional roles to achieve remarkable outcomes.”

The latest episode of the show features an interview with Susannah George, the founder and managing director of leading lifestyle website The Urban List, and winner at the B&T Women in Media Awards.
