Female Industry Leaders To Help Launch Unique Walking Tribe In Melbourne

After successfully launching in Sydney and Brisbane in the past year, Mentor Walks has announced it is expanding to Melbourne with the help of some female industry leaders.

How Mentor Walks works is through a small group of senior female executive leaders who agree that, when they are available, will be part of a monthly informal walk with a bunch of pre-registered mentees (three mentees per mentor) for an hour of support, knowledge exchange and problem solving.

Mentors have the option of suggesting to women who reach out to them for mentoring to register on the relevant website and join an upcoming walk, rather than fielding a million enquiries.

There’s no pressure for mentors to continue the relationship/connection with mentees after the walk.

The walks take place early in the morning around ‘The Tan’ in Melbourne, giving participants a chance to discover the city and take an hour for self-charging and learning.

The mentors for Melbourne include: Adriana Colaneri, managing director of StoryLab; Bec Brideson, author and founder of Venus Comms; and Cyan Ta’eed, executive director of Envato.

Mentor Walks was first launched in China by Michelle Garnuat, with Adina Jacobs and Bobbi Mahlab (pictured above) co-founding the initiative in Australia.

The first Melbourne walk takes place on Friday 3 November, and the cost is $25 per walk for mentees. Click here to register.
