Family Discover Missing Women Is A Contestant On The Bachelor

A woman reported missing by her family has been discovered after she appeared as a contestant on the reality dating show The Bachelor.

Californian woman Rebekah Martinez (in main photo) is currently one of the favourites on the US version of the show and it come as good news to her family after they reported her missing in mid-November.

On Thursday, a story in the North Coast Journal on 35 people currently missing in Humboldt County, California, included Miss Martinez.

The local asked readers if they recognised anyone in their collection of missing people, and Martinez was quickly recognised as a contestant on the dating show.

The 22-year-old Martinez was apparently working on a (legal) marijuana farm in California late last year when she failed to return home. Her very worried mother then reported her disappearance to the local police.

However, the whole mix-up appears to have been caused by a lack of communication between mother and daughter. Martinez tweeting: “MOM. how many times do I have to tell you I don’t get cell service on The Bachelor??”

On September 17, two months before she was reported missing, Martinez announced on Instagram she was giving up her mobile and social media for the next several weeks, adding: “If you need to contact me, well … tough luck!”

The Bachelor had started filming in September and its understood that a prerequisite of appearing on the show is a ban on all social media so as not to give away any spoilers.
