Ex-Twitter Director Joins Canva As Media And Newsroom Lead

Media consultant Jonathan Harley (pictured) has been appointed to lead Canva for Media and Newsrooms — a new initiative to empower media outlets with the latest Canva technology.

Having held senior roles at the ABC, Nine Network Australia, and most recently leading News Partnerships at Twitter across Asia, Jonathan has in-depth knowledge of media businesses, and how they can best apply new visual storytelling techniques.

Mitch Holmes has been appointed PR Manager to bolster Canva’s global product and customer storytelling. He brings a wealth of technology PR experience, built at leading communications agencies in Australia and the UK.

Diana Abeleven and Annmarie Liddle will provide further senior PR counsel across Canva’s global remit. The duo bring over 35 years experience and strategic insight to the team, having worked at well known agencies, as well as in-house with a number of global organisations.

Lachlan Andrews has also been appointed as PR Coordinator to support the team as they strive to make Canva a global household name.

Liz McKenzie, Head of PR and Communications at Canva said, “A hyper-growth company like Canva requires a PR and Comms team that’s nimble enough to keep the world informed about our exciting new developments. We have a design community representing 190 countries, yet we still have a long way to go to bring the power of design to even more people. Our newly expanded PR team will help evangelize Canva far and wide, and inspire more people to achieve their crazy big goals through great design.”
