Ex-Hilton Hotels Marketing Director Joins Vision Direct As CMO

Aussie designer glasses e-commerce company Vision Direct has announced the appointment of Ruth Cuadrado as its new chief marketing officer.

Cuadrado (pictured above) will be responsible for overseeing the entire marketing efforts of Vision Direct across Australia, New Zealand and abroad.

Her role will include providing creative direction for retained agencies across the global portfolio, including Hollinshead Comms 101 here in Australia.

No stranger to senior marketing responsibilities, prior to her role at Motion Global, which operates Vision Direct, Cuadrado had a successful marketing career within the Hilton Hotels Group.

Starting her career as a general manager trainee for the group, Cuadrado quickly rose up the ranks to become the marketing director for the hotel group in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Commenting on her appointment, Cuadrado said: “To take the role at Vision Direct was a decision that I didn’t take lightly. It is a role that I believe will be challenging, but also very rewarding.

“To have the opportunity to work for a company that has gone from a start-up to the world-leader in online designer eyewear in only 10 years is so exciting.

“I look forward to working with the wider marketing team to communicate all that Vision Direct has to offer, and to catapult the company into the top of Australia and New Zealand’s mindset when it comes to purchasing authentic, affordable eyewear.”
