Do You Mind?

A recent Mentally Healthy study revealed that people within the media, marketing and creative industry show greater signs of mental illness with 56% of respondents showing mild to severe symptoms of depression compared to the national average of 36%.

Youngbloods NSW will host a panel event in a bid to destigmatise the conversation around mental health, and highlight the need to support our greatest asset – our minds. Key speakers including Sean Hall, TEDx speaker, awarded innovator, and Chief Energist of wellbeing company Energx, Suzie Shaw, Managing Director of We Are Social, and Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd, will share their lived experiences and tips and tricks for putting mental health as a first priority.

When: 6:30pm – 9:00pm, Wednesday, 29 May 2019

Where: Clemenger BBDO, Lot 2, Pier 8/9, 23 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay

Cost: $20, food and drinks from Amplify included.

About the speakers:

Sean Hall

TEDx speaker, awarded innovator, and Chief Energist, Sean Hall, says that he’s on his fifth career (fitness, marketing, technology and HR have come before). He has more than two decades of leadership experience including running a $10B telecommunications brand impacting 16 million customers, five world firsts in bringing tech innovations to life, and designing culture strategy for 40,000 employees. He’s built two startups and worked as employee #11 in another. But perhaps most importantly, Sean learned why wellbeing is important the hard way by suffering burnout, or what he calls an energy crisis, twice in three years. This ultimately led him to create wellbeing company Energx and work with brands and governments who believe their most valuable asset is the collective energy and creativity of their people.

Suzie Shaw

Suzie Shaw is Managing Director of the socially-led creative agency, We Are Social, heading up its 50-strong Australian team. A strategic and creative thinker with extensive comms and marketing experience, she spent her early career in London advertising agencies before returning to her native Australia to take on the role of MD at Host. She then joined We Are Social in 2015. Suzie is a vocal advocate for women in leadership, a leading spokesperson on social and influencer marketing in Australia and author of the working-parent blog, What Do I Know?

Chris Freel

Chris Freel is CEO of UnLtd, the social purpose organisation connecting the media, marketing and creative industries with charities helping children and young people at risk. UnLtd empowers the industry to use their skills, resources and time for good and has driven over $50 million worth of value for charity partners to date. Chris also sits on the advisory board of NewCo Australia and Advertising Week Australia.
