Equity Mates Media, the number one finance and investing network for young Australians, has joined the Acast Creator Network.
Its five podcasts, which are some of Australia’s favourites, will now be hosted and distributed by the creator-first podcast company Acast.
Equity Mates Media was created to give everyday people the inspiration, information and confidence to break into the world of investing, from beginning to dividend.
Co-founders Bryce Leske (pictured left) and Alec Renehan (pictured right) met at university and both developed a passion for investing. As they spoke to friends and family about their interest, they realised a lot of people faced the same challenges.
They set out to record their journey of learning to invest, in the hope others would join them. Their first podcast, Equity Mates Investing, launched in 2017 and in the years since has grown into a large community of young investors in Australia and around the world.
Since then, the Equity Mates Media network has evolved to include five podcasts, Equity Mates Investing, Get Started Investing, Comedian V Economist, Meet Pay Love and, most recently, You’re In Good Company — all of which will now be hosted and distributed by Acast.
Guy Scott-Wilson, Acast’s Content Director for Australia and New Zealand, said: “We saw huge growth in the personal finance category last year, as new technology — and perhaps more time at home — made it easier than ever for young Australians to start investing.”
“What Bryce and Alec have created is an incredible stable of content that has made investing more accessible and relatable, and all the Equity Mates Media podcasts are a great fit for the Acastfamily. As the home of independent podcasting in Australia, we look forward to working with the Equity Mates Media team to support them in further growing and monetising their shows, in the ways they choose.”
Acast — the podcast company that works with some of Australia’s biggest shows — will host and distribute all 5 of the Equity Mates Media podcasts, making them available across all podcast apps and players such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.
Acast will also manage monetisation of the show through ads and branded content.
Bryce Leske, Equity Mates Media Founder, said, “the purpose of the Equity Mates Media network is to inspire young Australians to not fear the stock market and their finances. Our hope has always been to make investing understandable and accessible and we’re excited to work with Acast to get even more Aussies tuning into our podcasts — and, in turn, their finances.”
Alec Renehan, Equity Mates Media Founder, said, “if I can make money investing, anyone can. Our podcast network is all about starting the conversation and creating a community where our listeners can gain financial confidence.”
“We’re big fans of Acast’s creator-first approach to their podcasters and that’s something that’s really important to us as we look to continue growing Equity Mates Media.”
You can listen to Equity Mates Media podcasts on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
