Sting may have famously sung about an “Englishman In New York”, however, we very much doubt he had a vox pop interview that’s just gone viral in mind when he penned the lyrics.
The clip features social media reporter Eric Jeng stop an elderly English gentleman out on a stroll somewhere in the Big Apple.
Jeng asked the pensioner if he had a few moments to answer some questions and things go decidedly downhill very quickly.
The old chap replies he had “more than a couple of minutes” to spare because he had “nothing else to do”.
He then goes on a glorious tirade to camera, railing against New York (which he calls “shitty”), Jeng’s accent and Americans in general. One social media user described the whole thing as “British honesty and sarcasm at its best”.
“We’re spreading British bitterness everywhere, I love it!” commented another.
