Agency executive Emma Ashworth will join Enigma as group account director (GAD).

Announcing the appointment of Ashworth, Enigma said it is a true match for both parties: Ashworth has had her eye on Enigma for a while, while Enigma was searching for another high calibre GAD equipped with a wealth of experience and full of creative inspiration.

Most recently, Ashworth played an integral part of Sydney’s CHE Proximity team. Having joined the office when it first opened, she experienced huge growth in the agency in the almost five years she was there.

Relocating from Sydney to Newcastle (with family in tow), Ashworth looks forward to experiencing a similar growth at Enigma.

“Enigma is doing some really brave work and I’m excited to be part of a team that is focused on shifting up a gear,” she said.

“There is a huge appetite for great work within these walls, and some fantastic talent to deliver on it. I can’t wait to be part of that story and help drive the ambition as we take on 2021.”

Ashworth’s impressive resume has seen her work on numerous A-list clients, including Sony, Telstra, Danone Nutricia, IKEA and Toyota.

She has also worked at a variety of creative and integrated agencies in Sydney and London, including CHE Proximity, The Monkeys, Mercerbell and TMW.

Enigma Newcastle managing director, Peter Chapman said he was thrilled to bring Emma on to the team.

“We’re excited to bring Emma onboard—she will be a great asset to the team and clients alike with her stellar experience and can-do attitude”, he said.

“Emma joins Enigma at an important time for the agency. A busy client roster, the recent acquisition of creative agency Disciple, and the upcoming opening of a new Brisbane office meant we didn’t slow down at all in 2020. So it’s well and truly game on for us.”

Disciple co-founder and joint executive creative director at Enigma Peter Buckley said Ashworth is exactly what the agency needs right now.

“This is a fantastic hire for Enigma, and adds to an already incredibly strong team,” Buckley said.

“Emma’s rich experience in leading creative projects and integrated campaigns for major clients will greatly help our team, who are chomping at the bit ready to take on 2021, deliver our bravest and best work yet”.

Enigma began in Newcastle almost 30 years ago and now has offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle.

With more than 70 staff across the business, Enigma continues to be owned and led by its founder Lisa Sutton Gardner.
