Drive Appoints Carl Davies To Media Director Role

Drive has appointed former CarsGuide and Autotrader national sales director, Carl Davies, into the newly formed role of media director, Drive.

Davies brings more than 20 years’ experience in media sales to Drive, 13 of those within the automotive industry, including senior sales leadership roles with CarSales and more recently CarsGuide.

CEO of Drive, Simon Halfhide says Davies’ appointment to head up the Drive media commercial team is a strong signal of Drive’s growth ambitions in the automotive marketplace in 2022.

“We’re thrilled to have Carl join the Drive team in 2022. His experience within the digital automotive space is highly regarded amongst agencies and automotive brands alike. Since the consolidation of the CarAdvice and Drive brands in August 2021, we’ve seen an incredible increase in commercial interest in Drive, and I have no doubt that Carl’s reputation within the industry for innovation and performance will help continue Drive’s expansion through 2022 and beyond,” Halfhide said.

“The past 12 months have been transformational for us, and it’s our ambition to be the number one online automotive brand of choice for consumers and advertisers in Australia. The addition of Carl to Drive’s highly professional and strong commercial team will add a new layer of capability to our business, enabling us to capture new markets and reach even more Australians with the iconic Drive brand.”

Of his appointment, Carl Davies added, “I’m thrilled and excited to be joining the Drive team at such a pivotal time for the car industry. The Drive brand is one I’ve admired for many years and I’m very happy I now have the chance to work with Simon and the team. The quality and scale of the brand is already very impressive across multiple mediums so I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it.”
