Games, tech and pop culture specialist marketing and PR agency, Double Jump Communications, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Doug Johns as business director.
Johns will head up the firm’s recently expanded Sydney office, working alongside business director, Paul Houlihan, and managing director, Chris Wright to accelerate the company’s growth.
The move comes after a year of significant growth for Double Jump, which saw monthly billings more than double year on year and significant new client wins including Wizards of the Coast, HyperX, RTX Sydney and Madman Entertainment. Offering services including PR, social media, esports management, content creator engagement and events, the firm is the leading games-specialist agency for Australia and New Zealand.
Johns joins Double Jump from Willard Public Affairs and brings three decades of experience across journalism and PR including Director of Operations at PPR, European PR Manager at Virgin Interactive Entertainment and running his own specialist games agency in the UK (1-Up Media).
Johns will head up Double Jump’s Sydney office and joins existing Business Director, Paul Houlihan to create a formidable leadership team. Together they will be responsible for accelerating the agency’s growth, with the team expected to grow from eight to twelve staff during the next 12 months.
