Self-anointed digital prophet David Shing (aka Shingy) has quit his role at Verizon Media to start his own, as yet undisclosed, venture.
The Australian joined AOL back in 2007 in a marketing role and has been with the company through its various transformations into modern-day Verizon.
Shing gained global fame for his entertaining talks at festivals such as SXSW and TEDx.
In a statement via social media (which you can read in full below), Shing said he now plans to work “autonomously with brands to help then achieve optimal presence in the marketplace”.
