Digital Agency Launches Anti-WFH Candles With ‘Scents From The Office’

Melbourne-based digital marketing agency Kong Kong has released a range of ‘anti-WFH’ candles as the state emerges from the longest locked-down location in the world, and sets sights on moving back into the office space.

Designed to evoke the heavenly scents of daily office life, and as a nod to the little things that you never knew you missed, the candles recall the heady aromas of nabbing the best office chair, the feeling of strong, reliable Wi-Fi signal, and the excitement of your very first Zoom-free, face to face meeting.

Continuing the trend of employers sending their employees gift packs during lockdown, King Kong founder Sabri Suby has sent a candle to every single King Kong employee, with the hope of inspiring them to get back into the office once mask restrictions are lifted in Melbourne.

Suby said: “As much as the rest of the world has adapted to flexible, hybrid work-spaces, I know deep down that my team and I still hold a flame for the office culture – we are desperate to get back. The gift was a subtle nod to every-day pleasantries that we often overlook.”

The unique range of candles includes:

  • ZOOMLESS – Concentrated scents of human connection and lag-free social interaction
  • WIFI – Long-lasting, surf-infused (free) bliss
  • OFFICE CHAIR – A wild-ride aroma saddled with suspension and curve balls
  • PHOTOCOPY – A soft, silent scent with warm Ozone pops
  • STATIONERY – Dark and musty with hints of new notepad
  • DESK – A woody base with a mahogany finish to drawer you in

Suby said: “After close to two years of working from home, we’re all desperate for the energy and collaboration that the office can bring.

“The office still remains part of our core workplace identity and it shouldn’t be forgotten amid hybrid working plans. The office allows you to ‘shut the door’ on your work at the end of the day, instead of the ‘always on’ economy of working from home. This range of candles is the perfect thing to help fuel our burning desire to get back into the office.”

The candles were co-designed and hand-poured for King Kong by Sydney candle-maker Prudence Eccleston, who launched The Care Pack Co in July after being made redundant from her marketing role at the start of the pandemic.

Prudence received more than $30,000 in orders in her first month of business in July, thanks in part to her best-selling ‘Gladys’ candle, named after the then-Premier of Sydney Gladys Berejiklian.

Prudence Eccleston, founder of The Care Pack Co. added, Everyone has been burning the candle at both ends trying to get through Lockdown. I am glad that we were able to help Sabri lighten the mood.”

Know someone who is hankering to get back to their desk – or at least the smell of it? A select few of the King Kong anti-WFH candles are available on The Care Pack Co. for a limited time, from $29.50 each – available to purchase from
