‘Die Hard’ Is The “Greatest Christmas Story Ever Told”, Says Brilliant 30th Anniversary Trailer

Want to feel really old? Well, one of the all-time classic action flicks, 1988’s Die Hard, is celebrating its 30th year. Unless, of course, you weren’t even born, then this news could possibly make you feel rather young.

And to celebrate this awesome piece of cinematic brilliance, Fox Home Entertainment is re-releasing Bruce Willis’ finest hour on Blu-Ray to celebrate its coming of age.

More superbly, to support the release, Fox has reimagined the original film as a Christmas campaign and is even labelling it “the greatest Christmas story ever told”.

Even if you’ve never seen the original (and B&T strongly urges you seek it out if you haven’t), hopefully you’ll manage a few laughs from detective John McClane and his evil nemesis, the German terrorist, Hans Gruber (played brilliantly by Alan Rickman).

Fox even penned its own Night Before Christmas poem to celebrate a release, it surely hopes, finds its way under a number of Christmas trees come the 25th…

Twas the night before Christmas, at Nakatomi Plaza,
The office party was festive, but soon interrupted by drama.
Hans Gruber and his men, had forced their way in,
And taken everyone hostage, trapping them within.
But how could they know, there was a cop up above,
John McClane had arrived, to win back his wife’s love.
He would take them all out, winning everyone’s praise,
Welcoming Christmas Day, with his favourite catchphrase.
YIPPEE KI YAY!
