Dentsu Qld Strengthens Executive Team With The Appointment Of Wavemaker’s Emily Cook

Chris Ernst (pictured right), Managing Director of Dentsu Queensland, has announced the appointment of Emily Cook (pictured left) as Head of Client Partnerships for Carat Brisbane.

“We are thrilled to have Emily joining the team at Carat and Dentsu Qld. Not only is she a Queensland native returning home, she returns with an incredible reputation for client and people leadership and a passion for our industry which will fit right in with our culture and values,” Ernst said.

Cook returns to Brisbane after seven and a half years working in Sydney and Melbourne.  She has spent the last four and half years at Wavemaker in Sydney as the Media Lead running two of the agency’s biggest clients, most recently leading the Vodafone account for three years and prior to this, she was a client lead on Nestlé.  During her time in Melbourne she managed the Carlton & United Breweries business.

Since 2020 Cook has been the Media Federation of Australia Five Plus (MFA5+) Sydney Committee Chair.  She was listed in the Top 20 AdNews Emerging Leaders 2020, B&T Women in Media Awards Finalist – Rising Star, and B&T’s 30 Under 30 Shortlist 2019.

As MFA5+ Sydney Chair, her focus has been working to co-create taking the large MFA5+ inspiration series events online and work to establish the national MFA5+ Connect Series – bringing leaders together to hear from keynotes and connect with peers across the industry.

In addition to this, she has focused on supporting and mentoring across the NGEN online events and presentations to university students, to inspire them about the industry, people and culture.

“I am so excited to be heading home to Queensland.  I love the people-focus and strong relationship-based industry that the Brisbane media market has, and I’m so delighted with the opportunity to work with Chris and the dentsu QLD, Carat team.  I have so much energy and enthusiasm for this industry and I can’t wait to work alongside current and new clients in this role,” Cook said.
