Deepend Partners With Village Cinemas For Three-Day Innovation Challenge

Melbourne movie goers are set to benefit from the creation of an innovative new digital solution designed to improve their in-cinema experience following the completion of a three-day innovation project taking place across Village Cinemas this week.

Led by award-winning independent digital agency, Deepend, in partnership with Village Cinemas, the activation will see a team of six consumer technology specialists engage with local visitors to create, test and prototype a customer-centric app or program by Friday.

Using live feedback from patrons, the Deepend team will undertake rapid testing to deliver the foundations of a robust digital product that could have the potential to be rolled out across Village Cinemas nationwide.

GM of sales & marketing at Village Cinemas Mohit Bhargava said the company is committed to creating memorable movie experiences and using technology in new ways to support its increasingly connected customers.

“We welcomed this idea from Deepend to proactively prototype in partnership with our visitors. We believe this approach offers a compelling way forward in terms of product and service innovation, and can’t wait to see the results.”

Managing partner at Deepend Kath Blackham added the team is thrilled to partner on such an exciting brief, which is a testament to the agency’s innovation credentials.

“Deepend is passionate about human-centric design and developing solutions based on real-world insights. The work will follow this lean methodology to create a product that the customers actually need and want, and will enhance the experience,” she said.

Deepend is proudly part of a four-agency collective, the Deepend Group, an independent, digital communications and innovation consultancy group. The Deepend Group portfolio includes the leading specialist agencies, Deepend (Digital), How To Impact (Innovation), Nomad (Mobile) and History Will Be Kind (PR/Social Media).
