Independent media agency Match & Wood has been appointed by Curtin University to manage its domestic media following a competitive tender.
Match & Wood, which has offices in both Perth and Melbourne, will handle media strategy, planning, buying and data analytics across all channels within Australia. Longreach Media and Carat previously shared media duties for the university.
Curtin University is Western Australia’s largest university, with more than 56,000 students. Its main campus is in Perth and it has a major regional campus in Kalgoorlie and a campus in Midland, in addition to four global campuses in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and Mauritius.
The university has built a reputation around innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit. It is recognised globally for its strong connections with industry and for its commitment to preparing students for the jobs of the future. In October last year it launched its first major integrated brand campaign in more than five years, tapping into young people’s desire to see real change in the world.
Kate Jennings, director of brand and marketing at Curtin University said: “Match & Wood demonstrated strong strategic insights and an ability to effectively reach our important target demographic in our local markets. I look forward to partnering with them to tell the rich Curtin University story to those considering entering higher education across the country.”
Lyndelle O’Keefe, managing director at Match & Wood added: “In what is a challenging environment across the sector, the Match & Wood team will work closely with Curtin University to maximise its investment and leverage our expertise to meaningfully connect with their youth audiences. We’re delighted to have been appointed by such a respected leader in education, research and engagement.”
Curtin will continue working with Sydney-based Global Rev Gen for all international media planning and buying.
Curtin University is the latest win for Match & Wood which was founded three years ago by O’Keefe and MFA Board Member and chief operating officer, Chris O’Keefe. With offices in Perth and Melbourne, it works with clients including COSBOA (Council of Small Business Organisations Australia), UrbnSurf, Synergy, Summit Homes Group, and HIF Australia.
