Australian independent agency Cummins&Partners is today celebrating its 10-year anniversary across three offices, two continents and with its 150 employees.

Cummins&Partners opened its doors in Melbourne on 11 January 2011 with Jeep Australia as its foundation client. Over the past decade, the agency has expanded its footprint with offices in Sydney and New York, in addition to Melbourne—amassing a total of 150 employees.

The agency is also continuing to welcome a growing collection of clients, including Pernod Ricard, Energy Australia, McCain, Absolut, Adore Beauty, Godfreys, and Sara Lee, as well as recent wins Heritage Bank, Indeed, Klorane, Avene, and Sapporo, among others.

Cummins&Partners’ work has also been recognised at local and global awards shows, including Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, Effie Awards, Spikes Asia, Webby Awards, Campaign Asia, AMI’s Marketing Excellence Awards, ADMA Australian Creativity and Effectiveness Awards, and the AC&E Awards, among others.

Cummins&Partners Sydney was named among the Top 20 Independent Agencies in the World in the 2018 Global Creativity Report, an analysis of the results from the Cannes Lions Awards.

When it launched in 2011, Cummins&Partners was the first independent agency to bring creative and media back together and is the only Australian independent agency with a presence in the US.

Cummins&Partners’ chief creative officer, Sean Cummins, said much had changed in advertising in the past 10 years and the agency was proud to have enjoyed continued success within a “highly competitive landscape”.

“From the beginning, our intention was to be a new kind of agency that reconnected media and creative in partnership, ever-evolving digital and tech services, customer experience and strategy as a unified force,” Cummins said in a statement.

“It’s clearly a model that has resonated with clients, both here in Australia and in the US.”

He said the company felt “incredibly fortunate” to have emerged in a strong position, thanks to the hard work of its people and the fearlessness of our clients during the challenges of 2020.

Moreover, in September, Cummins&Partners reimbursed all staff for Covid-induced salary cuts that had been in place for six months.

Founding partner and Sydney MD Kirsty Muddle added: “It’s gratifying to see independent agencies thriving in the Australian market and overseas.

“Our independence has always been highly valued and fiercely protected at Cummins&Partners, empowering us to adapt and make fast decisions, and to offer true independent thinking to our clients. I believe that’s been an important ingredient in the business’s resilience and success.”
