B&T’s Changing The Ratio Events Are Back With ‘Belonging: It Starts With You’

B&T is proud to be sharing our Changing the Ratio program for 2021. At the core of Changing the Ratio is a value close to our hearts – and, we hope, close to yours too.

Belonging is the central theme of this year’s CTR. We already know that diversity and inclusion matter for business success; people need to see themselves reflected in the media they consume.

This year, we’re excited to announce that Changing The Ratio will be taking place as a series of breakfast events. We’ll also be sharing exciting content on the B&T website too.

‘Belonging: it starts with you’ focuses on the question of how representation can take place in Adland itself. We already know why diversity and inclusion are essential. Now it’s time for our industry to put those ideas into action.

Creating authentic belonging doesn’t just drive progress in our industry, it allows us to drive society as a whole forward.

Changing the Ratio brings together the Australian industry to overcome biases, and to discuss how we can create a more successful communications industry by showing individuals that they belong.

Our first breakfast will be taking place on Thursday 13th May at 12 Micron in Sydney.

It will focus on Indigenous employment and retention, creating products that centre people with disabilities, and the importance of spotlighting cultural diversity in Adland.

Our wonderful speakers include Marlee Silva, Co-Founder, Tiddas 4 Tiddas; Avish Gordhan, Executive Creative Directpr, M&C Saatchi Sydney; Pia Chaudhuri, group Creative Director, BMF; Keeva Stratton, Director, Quip Brands; Tommy Trout, CEO & Founder, WeFlex; Jackson Trout, WeFlex and Ant Medler, Creative Partner, Coffee Cocoa Gunpowder.

You can registers for tickets here.

Oh, and all of the breakfasts are free to ensure that they are as accessible as possible!

Potential themes for other 2021 breakfasts include race, disability, age, socio-economic background, sexuality and gender, refugee status, mental health, and religious belief.

To find out more about the first breakfast, and peruse through our list of wonderful speakers, head on over to the Changing the Ratio website.
