Crufts’ ‘Best In Show’ Does Poo On Victory Lap As 11 Million Viewers Tune-In

Crufts is like the Academy Awards for dog shows and the canine that gets ‘best in show’ is akin to winning the best film gong.

Over the weekend, a wire-haired dachshund called Maisie took out this year’s top prize.

Any winner deserves a victory lap and as Maisie’s owner, Kim McCalmont, took her victorious pooch around the arena, Maisie – clearly racked with nerves and excitement – stopped to deliver a whopping stool mid-prance in front of a packed arena and a reported TV audience of 11 million.

And, yes, social media’s loving Maisie’s call to nature. Check out some of the tweets in response below:

“This dog just raised the bar for acceptance speeches by winning Best In show then doing a big old shit on the stage.”

“I give you the best moment of 2020 so far. This year’s #Crufts winner!”

“The winner of Crufts has just been presented with the trophy and immediately taken a massive shit on live TV and oh, I have never admired a dog more.”

“Maisie is a true professional – held it in until the win was in the bag.”

“Code brown.”

“Squeezed out a serious dookie.”

“I admire #Maisie so much to have been able to move well enough to win Best in Show at #Crufts with such a big load inside her little tummy. What a star!”

“Omg Maisie doing a poo on the lap of honour is the most dachshund thing I’ve ever seen.”
