Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a brand- new App CR7Selfie that allows his followers to take their fan status to an all-new level. Now they can have a selfie with their soccer idol literally anytime, anywhere and with Ronaldo in various states of dress. It’s all for a good cause as a portion of the proceeds of every download goes to charity Save the Children.

Ronaldo has been a Global Artist Ambassador for Save the Children since January 2012. Since then, the world-renowned football player has used his voice and visibility to shine a much needed spotlight on the most pressing needs of children around the globe and to engage his fans to do more to help children in need, both in their own communities and around the globe.

The app is $2.89 on iTunes and Google Play, but it’s unspecified how much is going to Save the Children. Future photos and filters will be sold in-app for 99 cents.

There are 68 different photos of Ronaldo in several outfits, including shirtless, 39 filters to apply and all the technology necessary to match and adjust the pictures. The App will then show them the CR7 picture they have chosen over the image of the selfie camera of their smartphone. They just need to adjust their position in the picture and take the photo. After that, they can have some of Cristiano Ronaldo’s magic with all the setting that allows them to have a perfect end-result, matching, adjusting and adding some colour, textures and frames to the picture.

“From the very beginning, I knew that I wanted this app to support a charitable cause I believe in,” Ronaldo said in a statement. “I have been involved with Save the Children for several years now, and knew they were the best partner for this app. As a father and global artist ambassador for Save the Children, I am committed to working towards giving all children a better and brighter future.”

“One in 11 children is out of school worldwide. Refugee children fare even worse; they are five times more likely to be out of school than non-refugee children,” said Carolyn Miles, president and CEO of Save the Children. “Education is critical to helping children build opportunities for success, as well as realize their dreams. Together, this partnership and the power of social media can have an incredible impact on children globally, opening the door to learning and other opportunities to put them on the path to reach their full potential.”
