Adlander Reimagines Famous Logos In The Age Of The Plague

With self-isolating now the norm, a Slovenian adlander has used his spare time to reimagine iconic logos in the age of coronavirus.

Jure Tovrljan is a creative director for the Ljubljana-based (that’s Slovenia’s capital) agency AV Studio (you can check out some of its cool work here).

According to a report on US industry site AdAge, Tovrljan came up with his idea to twist famous logos while waiting for a coffee in Starbucks. He started to reimagine the coffee chain’s famous mermaid logo wearing a face mask.

On the sharing site Dribbble, Tovrljan wrote: “Things around COVID-19 seriously started to go out of hand and all my social media feeds were flooded with cheap memes.

“I decided to revive an old passion, logo design and I saw an opportunity for some quality content that I would be glad to see on my social feed in these difficult times.”

Tovrljan started on some of the world’s most iconic logos but soon realised “some have the potential and some don’t.”

On the response to his creations, Tovrljan responded: “I had some negative comments at first, but it was all done in a positive spirit,” he said. “I just wanted to spread the message in a different way and let people know to keep their social distance, stay at home if possible. After the ball started rolling, everyone saw it as something positive and creative.”
