Coopers and the makers of the good ol’ trusty Dunlop Volley, now simply known as Volley, have teamed up to create the Coopers XPA Volley.
Available through select venues from this week, the limited-edition sneaker features the distinctive purple colour of Coopers XPA, a beer that happily sits alongside B&T’s green tin favourite, Coopers Pale Ale, but above the god awful Sparkling Ale.
Cam Pearce, Coopers’ marketing and innovation director, said both brands had “a long and proud history” making products for Australians.
“Our brands are among the best known and loved in this country, so it made sense for us to join forces to create the ultimate Aussie footwear,” Pearce claimed.
Volley Australia marketing manager Sam Despotidis added that Volley and Coopers’ similar heritages made the partnership “an obvious choice”.
“When we put the call out to our fans on what collaborations they’d like to see, they asked for Coopers,” Despotidis said.
“Our customers value quality and having fun with their mates, which aligns with Coopers XPA drinkers and what they value.”
He added that the Coopers XPA x Volley deuce style sneaker would be “the ideal footwear for a Sunday session” or for “beers at the pub”.
Coopers and Volley have also designed XPA branded socks and caps.
The limited-edition sneakers are not available for purchase but can be claimed following XPA purchases at participating bottle shops or on-premise locations.
Customers who purchase a case of Coopers XPA at selected Bottle-O, Big Bargain and Cellarbrations stores nationally during the promotional period can claim a bonus pair of Coopers XPA Volleys, via the Volley website and while stocks last.
Additionally, for those enjoying a glass of XPA at their local, scratch and win cards will be available at more than 60 participating drinking venues across the country.
Prizes, including Volley sneakers, socks and caps, plus limited edition XPA enamel pins, will be while stocks last.
Coopers Brewery is a sixth-generation, family-owned company, and Australia’s largest Australian-owned brewery. The Coopers family has been making its famous ales since 1862.
Volley is an Australian sneaker brand that, since its beginning as a tennis shoe in 1939, has graced courts, roamed streets, and strutted across stages ever since.
