Following the success of the Mexican-flavoured BBQ hot roast chicken that hit shelves in 2020, Coles has developed a brand new sweet, smokey, and succulent take on everyone’s favourite hot roast chicken.
Perfect for sandwiches, salads or as a centrepiece on its own, BBQ hot roast chickens are Coles’ third top-selling item behind bananas and strawberries, with Coles finding a new way to innovate on a product customers love so much. Coles’ data shows honey-based flavour combinations are also the most popular seasoning and are more than 13% popular compared to other flavours like satay.
Already a firm fixture across poultry in the meat department, the customer favourite Honey Soy Chicken Kebabs inspired to create a unique flavour profile that suited hot roast chooks too.
Marinated in honey, garlic and liquid smoke for a balanced and delectable flavour hit, the Coles Honey BBQ Hot Roast RSPCA Approved Chicken also includes a mouth-watering breadcrumb stuffing, flavoured with paprika, garlic, honey, and herbs.
