BMW’s search for a new creative agency is over, with the car company settling on Clemenger BBDO Melbourne following a competitive pitch.
The appointment comes after BMW and incumbent Ogilvy Australia reached the end of their current contract earlier this year, after working together for more than 25 years.
WiTH Collective and Iris were both in the running for BMW’s creative. B&T understands WiTH Collective held a two-month contract with the company, while Iris has been working with MINI (part of the BMW Group) on a project basis.
Tony Sesto, general manager of marketing at BMW Group Australia, said in a statement: “BMW Group Australia is on the threshold of launching a range of exciting new products in new segments, and so we sought an innovative creative agency to design and implement campaigns to support these initiatives.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Clemenger going forward, and we anticipate continuing our strong growth in the premium automotive market over the next several years.”
A spokesperson for Clems Melbourne declined to comment when contacted by B&T.
