Maroni has over a decade of experience in the media and communications industry, spending the last eight years in strategic planning and specialist digital roles at Mediacom in London and Sydney. Al Crawford, executive planning director of Clemenger BBDO Sydney, said: “I’ve worked with Mat for a number of years now on shared clients, so I know how amazing he is. He’s exactly what I’m looking for in a planner: brilliant at coming up with big, enduring brand ideas, but also savvy about how those ideas can come to life in the real world. He’s going to be a massive asset for us and our clients and we’re delighted to have him on board.”
Maroni has a strong track record of success, playing an instrumental role in $190m worth of new business wins at Mediacom Sydney as well as a host of award wins, including 10 MFA awards, 5 regional APAC awards and 3 Agency of the Year awards. S
peaking of his new role, Maroni said: “I’m delighted to be working at Clemenger. I’ve been impressed with the way the agency combines rich storytelling pedigree with real technological capability and intent. I’m looking forward to working with a bunch of smart people who clearly share my enthusiasm for getting ‘what we say’ and ‘where we say it’ working hard together. I can’t wait to get stuck in.” Maroni will be a planning director on Clemenger BBDO Sydney clients Virgin Australia and Campbell Arnott’s.
