A Clarification To An Article Relating To Amber Harrison On 22/03/17

On Wednesday the 22nd of March B&T published an article relating to former Seven West Media (SWM) employee Amber Harrison.

In the article, B&T inferred that Seven’s director of corporate affairs, Simon Francis, and a former Seven employee, Rob Raschke (now of Sky News), had publicly discussed details of Ms Harrison’s termination from SWM, contravening the company’s own confidentiality agreements.

B&T had quoted an ABC News online article that had reported to have seen documents presented to the NSW Supreme Court by Ms Harrison’s lawyers.

The article also said that Mr Raschke had spoken to a Fairfax Media journalist regarding Ms Harrison’s termination.

B&T has been alerted by Seven’s legal counsel that both Mr Francis and Mr Raschke deny the claims made in the article.

Seven West Media’s lawyers has sent a clarification to B&T that read: “Although B&T quoted from a Federal Court filed application, we have received direct correspondence from two people named, being Simon Francis of Seven and Rob Raschke formerly of Seven (now of Sky News), who both have denied that they said the words attributed to them concerning Ms Harrison or spoke to Joe Aston of The Australian Financial Review concerning her departure from Seven or the expenses allegations concerning her. B&T did not have the opportunity to speak to them prior to publication and is happy to clarify its earlier report accordingly.”

B&T apologises to Mr Francis and Mr Raschke for any distress caused.
