Channel Nine To Be Sued For Footy Show Stunt Gone Wrong

Channel Nine could be heading to court following reports that former NRL star Ben Ross is preparing to launch legal action after badly breaking his arm while competing in an arm-wrestling competition live on The Footy Show.

According to The Australian, the report said Ross had told friends he planned to sue Nine in relation to the incident. However, he declined to comment specifically on the matter, but said he was still suffering from the freak injury.

The incident happened in June last year as part of The Footy Show’s Iron Arm challenge, which was sponsored by Yellow Brick Road.

Ross faced up against another former NRL star, Wendell Sailor, and it all went pear-shaped.

Nine said it was not aware of any legal action taken by Mr Ross and believed relations between The Footy Show and the former player remained cordial, according to The Australian.
