Carat Takes Responsibility For Virgin’s Kanye Tweet

Media agency Carat has tweeted saying an employee was behind the Virgin Australia’s tweet to Kanye West telling him “EAD (eat a dick), you douche.”

The original tweet accidentally posted from the Virgin Airlines account, which has over 210,000 followers, came after Yeezy complained that Pitchfork should have rated his album 30/10 instead of 9/10.

EADThe tweet was quickly deleted, with Virgin Australia tweeting:

2/2 We apologise for any offence caused.

— Virgin Australia (@VirginAustralia) February 16, 2016

A recent tweet on our account was not published by a Virgin Australia employee and we are investigating the matter. — Virgin Australia (@VirginAustralia) February 16, 2016

The social media rumour-mill kicked into overdrive, with some people claiming Virgin had been hacked or aren’t big Yeezy fans. Turns out, an employee at media agency Carat is behind the oopsie:

Carat Australia apologises for a recent Tweet that we mistakenly posted on Virgin Australia’s account. We regret any damage possibly caused.

— Carat AUNZ (@CaratAUNZ) February 17, 2016

“The staff member responsible is still working with us and we are assessing a suitable course of disciplinary action with them,” a Carat representative told B&T.

In all fairness, West has been a bit of a douche with the promotion of his latest album The Life Of Pablo, including starting an Twitter argument with Wiz Khalifa after the rapper attacked Yeezy’s new album title.

Here are just some of the insane stuff West has tweeted in the past few weeks:

Steve Jobs wanted to lower the cost of textbooks…

To Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, New York Times, and any other white publication. Please do not comment on black music anymore.

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016

I am ultra light beaming right now. So many people have called or emailed to help today hedge fund guys billionaires etc…

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016

Mark Zuckerberg I know it’s your bday but can you please call me by 2mrw…

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016

I’m practicing my Grammy Speech. I’m not going to the Grammys unless they promise me the Album of the Year!!!

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016

Mark Zuckerberg invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 14, 2016

And B&T‘s personal favourite:

Exes can be mad but just know I never let them play with my ass… I don’t do that… I stay away from that area all together

— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 29, 2016
