“Cannot Name A Single Person!” 10’s The Challenge Gets Roasted Over Liberal Use Of The Word “Celebrity!”

Network 10 is getting roasted over its liberal use of the word ‘celebrity,’ thanks to its lesser-known celebrity line-up for its latest reality show, The Challenge Australia.

Basically, the show features reality stars from other reality shows, such as Ninja Warrior, The Bachelor and Big Brother. So, we’ve got people like Abbie Chatfield’s ex-boyfriend Konrad Bien-Stephen and Brittany Hockley, who made a name for herself on The Bachelor and has since become a podcast, Queen.

Think less A list, and think more D list! Naturally, when the show announced its line-up and used the word celebrity. Some people took to social media to express their confusion.

Let’s face it, and the network hasn’t exactly nabbed a big name for the show! One person tweeted, “I cannot name a single person!” Another tweeted, “I literally know a grand total of zero of these people. Did you run an AI to generate these images?”

You get the drift!

But, here’s the thing! While most of these celebrities aren’t traditional celebrities like famous actors or well-known musicians. There’s no denying that influencers and ex-reality stars are a whole new breed of celebrity, and they have proved in the past to bring eyeballs.

Plus, never ignore the fact that there are already romance rumours stemming from the show that are spawning plenty of headlines.

So, yes, Network 10 hasn’t managed to bag a major star. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be a success, and it also may have been a deliberate choice by 10’s part to attract a younger more socially media engaged audience.
