Sound had listeners stumped for eight months.
An attentive listener correctly guessed Magic 1278’s Secret Sound on the station’s Drive program yesterday, pocketing an impressive cash jackpot of $5,140 after the sound had kept listeners guessing for more than eight months.
The Melbourne listener correctly named the sound of adjusting the height of cutting blades on a lawn mower, which had Magic listeners stumped since October 2013.
Kevin of Wyndham Vale called into Ric Ditchburn’s Drive program to make the correct guess and take out the Secret Sound.
“We’re thrilled that one of our listeners, who obviously has a keen ear for lawnmowers, has correctly guessed the Secret Sound and taken home a cash prize of more than $5,000. The Secret Sound has now reset at $200 and the cash price will continue increasing in value until one of our listeners correctly names the sound,” Magic 1278 Operations Manager Dave Ferguson said.
“Magic 1278 has featured our ‘Secret Sound’ competition since 2011 and our listeners love it!”
The Secret Sound can be heard on Magic 1278 from Monday to Friday at 7:20am, 10:15am, 2:15pm and 6:15pm.
