If you’ve never seen a Warburton’s Bagels ad then there’s three things you need to know – think big stars (Sylvester Stallone, Peter Kay and The Muppets have all starred in one), they feature the company’s actual CEO (Jonathan Warburton) and, mercifully, they’re typically hilarious.
Take the latest offering from the UK baker that features none other than Hollywood legend Robert De Niro who appears to have reprised his gangster films from the 70s for the two-minute spot.
The ad’s the work of Warburton’s incumbent creative agency Engine and references a number of De Niro’s movies (the good ones like Goodfellas, not the crap ones like Dirty Grandpa.)
Check out the fun but strangely ominous spot below:
De Niro said of making the ad: “It was a pleasure to fly to the UK to film this ad with the Warburtons family, and star alongside Jonathan.Getting into the bagel business has been great fun, and I hope everyone enjoys the final cut.”
Jonathan Warburton added: “As an iconic New Yorker, Robert De Niro knows his way around a bagel so it’s great to have his seal of approval.
“We’ve spent months perfecting the recipe and process to ensure we delight families up and down the country with the best thing since sliced bread.”
