The Gillette campaign may have caused a global stir about modern masculinity, but a new spot by Old Spice is arguing that men are very much in touch with their sensitive sides.
The ad, out of the US, stars actor and comic Deon Cole opening up to his female partner played by Gabrielle Dennis.
“We need to talk,” extols the velvet-throated Cole before castigated Dennis for using all of his Old Spice Moisturise With Shea Butter Body Wash.
The campaign’s called “Men Have Skin, Too” and is the work of legendary agency Wieden+Kennedy.
Interestingly, both the Old Spice and the Gillette brands are part of Proctor & Gamble’s stable, however, the company has refuted claims that one ad was made to counter the other.
