Maverick Nats MP George Christensen Releases Self-Made Ad So Awful It’s Actually Good

Nationals MP George Christensen has shunned ad agencies by releasing his own self-made ad campaign that is so truly awful, it’s actually quite good.

The near-six minute spot features the MP singing about what he’s done for Dawson, which he holds by 3.4 per cent, to the catchy tune of “I’ve Been Everywhere, Man”.

Christensen lists his achievements in the Dawson electorate while simultaneously singing about the failures of Bill Shorten and the labor party.

The extremely long campaign video absurdly opens with Christensen donned in a leotard and dancing to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, before it quickly cuts to the title of the ad: “Getting our fair share”.

Christensen has come under fire as of late due to the time he’s spent in the Philippines over the last three years, rather than in his electorate.

Prime minister Scott Morrison said last month that Christensen has not spent one day in the Philippines since Morrison became PM, and he expects MPs to be “in their electorates doing their jobs.”

Only time will tell what sort of impact Christensen’s musical debut will have on his polling numbers.
