‘The Hoff’ Reprises ‘Knight Rider’ In Utterly Ludicrous Spot For German Car Site

American actor (and part-time singer) David Hasselhoff has (oddly) always enjoyed a huge fanbase in Germany.

In 2018, he famously claimed he’d singlehandedly brought down the Berlin Wall in 1989 after headlining a concert in front of one million Berliners the night the hated barrier came down. And, ever since, Hasselhoff has forever been associated with the fall of the Wall.

And now the Hoff’s back in the land of sauerkraut fronting a truly ridiculous new campaign for German car buying site Mobile.de.

The madcap spot, by Hamburg agency achtung!, features plenty of references to Hasselhoff’s famous KITT car from the Knight Rider series that first aired way back in 1982 and shot the now 67-year-old to global stardom. But as many cars these days are able to speak and drive themselves, the KITT references may well be lost on a younger audience.

Anyway, check out the bonkers spot below, which, admittedly, is all in German but kinda makes the whole thing even more crazy.
