Campaign: Havaianas And General Pants Create Giant Toucan Installation

Shoe brand Havaianas has created a Havaianas-bearing, rainbow-wearing toucan which is currently perched in Melbourne’s Bourke Street General Pants store-window. His name is Sol.

The installation, which flew into the store last Thursday, will be entertaining customers until the end of the month.

‘Sol’ brings the vibrancy and attitude of Brazilian culture and heritage to life in a truly eye-catching way, embodying both the Havaianas and General Pants brand.

After months of planning, the window display took approximately seven hours to install, and two weeks to produce.

The concept was crafted by Havaianas visual merchandising manager, Sally Kerr, in collaboration with young artist, Fraser Anderson.

In speaking of the concept, Sally noted: “I was inspired by the vibrant colour palette in the Havaianas range and the brilliance of the Brazilian Jungle, and thought this idea was a perfect combination. We decided to name the toucan, ‘Sol’, which is Portuguese for Sun, and hope our customers enjoy the visual surprise when they walk past the store.”
