Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Plays Nostalgia Card In New Christmas Campaign
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks has launched its nostalgic Christmas campaign, featuring vintage archival footage from a 1970’s Australian Christmas.
The new brand campaign is centered on Bundaberg Brewed Drinks founder and master brewer, Cliff Fleming, as he encourages everyone to remember the simple joy of the Christmases gone by.
The spot’s the work of Publicis’ Kiwi agency Breakout Room.
Throughout the 30-second spot, vintage footage from the Fleming family archive is shown, serving as a nostalgic throwback to the festivities of yesteryear. The footage, from the 1970’s, is complemented with the Founder reminiscing on the past as well as his hopes for the 2022 Christmas.
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks CMO Penny Glasson said the brand was focusing on a festive season of simple pleasures, such as spending time with family and friends.
“The fact that we have had the privilege to share the family’s personal footage for this campaign reminds how unique this brand is,” Glasson said.
“Many Australian consumers will be able to relate to the style of Christmas back in the 70’s, a period that reminds us of the simple pleasures… just like our Ginger Beer,”
“As a proud Australian family-owned business, we understand the importance of family and friends, especially during the holiday season.”
Recent studies have shown that 51 per cent of Australians lost connection with friends and family over the last two years. Researchers also predict that due to having a strong sense of normality back, the 2022 festive season will include “multiple Christmases” with consumers embracing the concept of ‘framily’.
The campaign will be featured on YouTube, social media, and TV.
