Brisbane Goes Purple For Relay For Life Campaign

Queensland digital signage and billboard company, goa billboards, is helping Cancer Council paint Queensland purple through a new partnership for one of the charity’s biggest fundraisers Relay For Life, launched in Brisbane this week.

A sea of purple Relay For Life supporters took over one of Brisbane’s biggest billboards yesterday during peak hour at Coronation Drive to create hope for a cancer free future.

Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said Brisbane was proud to officially launch the statewide partnership at the Coronation Drive billboard.

“Throughout regional hotspots across Queensland, you’ll see goa billboards turned purple to promote local Relay For Life events in 2015,” Clift said.

“We’re thankful for the opportunity to share our message of hope for a cancer free future with members of the community throughout the State.

“Our colourful billboards will inspire residents to get involved in their local Relay For Life event, raising funds to help those affected by cancer throughout Queensland.”

More than 25,000 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer this year alone, and around 8000 will die from the disease.

In 2014, Relay For Life events throughout the State raised more than $4.2 million for cancer patients and their families in Queensland.

Relay For Life is an 18 hour event involving teams of up to 15 people keeping a baton moving in a relay style walk or run overnight.
