It’s a true tragedy that David Bowie has departed this fine planet, and no doubt gone on to explore others, passing away at the age of 69.
The curious and whimsical character that was Bowie was confirmed to have died just days after his 69th birthday and the release of his 28th studio album ‘Blackstar’.
And while there is an endless collection of wondrous contributions that the legend made to the world, we thought we’d aptly pay tribute on behalf of the advertising realm.
Popular brands the world over are mourning the passing of Bowie in a variety of fashions, including shout outs from Virgin Galactic, Superdry and pretty much every media outlet worth its grain in salt.
I’m not a prophet or a stone aged man, just a mortal with potential of a superman. I’m living on. ⚡️ RIP #DavidBowie pic.twitter.com/7fmj3mPkA8

And then of course there are the many ads Bowie and his music starred in, including these more recent standouts:
Vittel, 2006
Promoting mineral water brand Vittel, Bowie wakes up one morning to find his many famous avatars relaxing around his home and makes for quite a fascinating musical adventure.
Louis Vuitton, 2006
American supermodel Arizona Muse starred alongside Bowie in this lavish ad selling, well, something high farshun?
XM Satellite Radio, 2001
Bowie parodied his 1976 flick, ‘The Man Who Fell To Earth’, in this gem, by falling from the sky and crashing through the roof of a motel.
And if you’re still trying to come to terms with the kind of impact David Bowie had during his time on earth, try visiting the ‘What Did Bowie Do’ website, that can tell you exactly the kinds of adventures Bowie was having when he was your age.
RIP David Bowie.
