Microsoft’s flagship store in Sydney is giving Aussies the chance to learn how to develop their own video game with the launch of the world’s first ever Xbox Academy.

The academy, which was created in partnership with brand activation agency The Spaceship, will offer students and gaming fans the chance to take part in a range of interactive workshops taught by teachers from the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, covering all of the basics of designing, developing and programming a game.

The Xbox Academy will host its first class in April inside the Microsoft store in Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall.

Spaceship founder and creative director Kumar Manix said the agency was thrilled to be launching the Xbox Academy in Sydney.

“This is a great community initiative, and builds on the Superbowl and Lego camps we ran at the Microsoft Store in 2016,” he said.
