Bastion Announces New CFO

Amidst considerable growth and a hiring spree announced last week, Australia’s largest independent agency, Bastion Collective today announces the recruitment of Jeremy Jenkinson [feature image] to the role of Chief Financial Officer.

Jenkinson has more than 30 years of financial and commercial experience in the marketing and communications industry. More recently he has spent the last 13 years as the CFO for JWT and Wunderman Thompson across Australia and New Zealand. During this time he also served as Chair of the WPP Australia Finance Group and more recently as a member of the WPPAUNZ Finance Executive Committee.

Jenkinson has also been heavily involved with the industry based Communications Council from both a training and mentorship perspective as well as the promotion of fairer pricing models and strategies for the services agencies provide.

Prior to this Jenkinson consulted to the industry across a number of creative and design agencies as well as serving a significant period of time as Finance Director for the Mattingly and Young & Rubicam Group, both in Victoria and South Australia.

Bastion Collective’s Global CEO Jack Watts said: “It is fantastic to welcome someone of Jeremy’s calibre to Bastion Collective. With the sort of growth we are currently experiencing, Jeremy provides a steady hand and some grey hair on our journey to create the Great Australian Agency.”

We have recently seen a movement of great people and great clients away from the global holding groups. It started as a trickle and now it is a flood. For anyone out there who is currently disillusioned with the direction and leadership of the multinational agencies and believes there must be a better way, Bastion Collective will welcome you with open arms!”

New recruit and Richmond Tigers tragic, Jenkinson added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Jack and the broader Bastion team. I have been suitably impressed, after lifting the hood, by the depth and breadth of what Bastion Collective offer – an impressive array of talent, agile and an enviable client list. I look forward to contributing to their continued growth. I’ve enjoyed my time at JWT however this opportunity presents itself as an exciting and refreshing new chapter”.
