So Bad, It’s Good! Regional Town Unveils All-Singing, All-Dancing Campaign To Attract More GPs
A NSW country town is suffering a doctor shortage and so its’ launched and all-signing, all-dancing campaign to find some urgently needed replacements.
The little town of Temora, in the south-west of the state, currently has eight doctors, however, with the imminent retirement of three of them, they’re in desperate need of some more.
The campaign’s been dubbed the “Great Quack Quest” and is the brainchild of local GP-obstetrician Rachel Christmas and was paid for via a $5000 grant from Temora Shire Council.
“The focus of this campaign is not just about our desire to see more doctors in Temora but to elevate the importance of rural and regional health generally,” Dr Christmas told the ABC.
The spot features professional performers – all Termora residents – and a stack of unprofessional locals keen to show off their dubious line-dancing skills.
