Last night’s second instalment of Ten’s The Bachelor saw 739,000 viewers tune in to see bachelor Matty J and the antics of his 22 lusty suitors.

The show shed 107,000 viewers from its debut on Wednesday night that saw 846,000 viewers tune in. However, it should be noted it was against staggered scheduling last night.

Obviously the debut episode was always going to attract a bigger audience of people taking a peek, however, Ten would not want to see the show fall much further considering the huge hype and publicity it has had and the expectations the network has for it.

To The Bachelor’s credit it still managed to take the top spot last night for most-watched entertainment program, but didn’t have too much competition from Nine’s RBT (366,000 in three cities) and Seven’s The Chase (604,000).

The most watched program last night was Seven’s news with 1.02 million viewers, however, it was rival Nine claiming the bragging rights.

Nine secured 28.3 per cent of the audience share, followed by Seven with 26.8 per cnet, Ten had 21 per cent, the ABC 16.6 per cent and SBS did well with 7.4 per cent.
