The Bachelor Finale Pulls 1.3 Million, While Richie Admits To Just Pulling

The pain, the heartache, the unrequited love that is Ten’s The Bachelor is over for another lovelorn year with Richie pulling a curveball on everyone in last night’s finale and professing his undying love to Alex in front of 1.324 million metro viewers according to the OzTam figures.

Foxy Nikki Goagn (left of photo) was said to be the bookies’ favourite (she was 12-1 on the B&T office tote) but ended up losing to single mum Alex Nation (right in photo).

Bachelor Richie Strahan (middle of photo) had to fight off media reports he was both a “love rat” and “the most hated man in Australia” to take home, what he called, “the love of his life”.

However, it was his revelations on Kyle and Jackie O’s breakfast show this morning that arguably was all the more intriguing.

Richie told the radio duo that he had not fornicated with any of the contestants during the three-month filming of the program and had “blue balls” as a result.

However, in better news, he told the radio audience that he’d subsequently drained the cumquats and consummated his new love with Alex.

“There was so much built up tension, it was three months of having the biggest blue balls in Australia. To get to the finale was great,” he told a bemused Kyle and Jackie O.

“There was a funny story. After the finale we got dropped back and the moment we got back to our room we just looked at each other … the camera crew were trying to leave,” Richie revealed.

“There was this moment, it was just unreal. We were in a private spot and we shared our second kiss. After she kissed me, I just looked away at the cameraman and said ‘holy shit’. I just thought ‘she’s got me here’. Obviously there’s more to it but that was definitely a beautiful moment.”

Thankfully, the audience was spared any news of any rooting. Until next year!
