BACARDÍ Releases Sydney Edition Of Video Series On Local Nightlife

BACARDÍ have released the second episode of a three-part video series Party Talks, exploring the state of Australian nightlife, shining a light on what keeps the country’s key cultural curators going, and up at night.

With the lock outs, police crackdowns and cranky neighbours, many of Australia’s foremost curators of nightlife have also become familiar with frustration, roadblocks, and a lack of support.

Shot around the recent House of Bacardi party in Sydney, the episode features insights from some of the Sydney’s most important and well-loved nightlife notables including Tyson Koh (Keep Sydney Open), Nes, Christopher Kevin Au, The Meeting Tree (Raph Lauren & Joyride), Jimmy Nice (One Day), Jade Le Flay, Arca Bay, Luen, and Jono Seidler.

What are the biggest challenges facing Sydney’s party scene? What can be done to re-shape the current landscape? Watch as they talk lockout laws, their ultimate Sydney party moment, and what the future holds for the city they love.

Keep Sydney Open’s Tyson Koh said, “We’ve always had amazing talent and passion in Sydney. There’s no shortage of DJs and promoters who want to put on great parties that enliven the city. With the lockouts however, our nightlife has received a kick in the guts and Sydney’s confidence as a whole has suffered.

“Instead of playing politics, the Baird government has an opportunity to work with nightlife practitioners to build a 24-hour city we can all be proud of.”

The House of Bacardi party in Sydney was the second in a series that sees BACARDÍ getting behind the party throwers and fans who are both carrying and changing the cultural fabric of Australia’s cities. Sydneysiders came out in support of local curators Good God, One Day, House of Mince and VICE. Check out all that happened in Sydney here:

Episode one, shot in Brisbane, saw key nightlife players The Creases, DJ Sezzo Snot, Bedlam Records, and A Love Supreme discuss Brisbane’s strong sense of community, the challenges the scene is facing, house parties getting shut down, and the fact that no one buys tickets to things anymore. See what went down at the Brisbane here:

The series of free parties finished up in Melbourne on Thursday, with afterdark heroes Daydreams, Pelvis, VICE, andCRXZY SXXY CXXL each curating rooms, featuring the best of the artful city’s late night scene, including icons Tornado Wallace, local duo Awesome Wales, Sydney’s Donny Benét (LIVE), Goddess feat. MIMI, SHOUSE, and more. Stay tuned for the Melbourne episode.
