Two disruptive technology experiences, Startup businesses within established MNCs, businesses that established a new clinical gold standard on a global basis: the laparoscopic/thoracoscopic technology launched as Ethicon-Endosurgery at Johnson & Johnson; world-leading aortic stent endografting technology launched as Aortic Interventions at Cook Medical. From 2004 to late 2015, as an Executive at Cook Medical: starting in 2004, built the North American sales network for the Aortic business; in early 2008 moved into the global leadership role in the AI SBU responsible for all aspects of the business across 80 countries; in 2014-15 completed a strategy development project for Cook Medical’s total business in China. Merger, business development, sales & marketing experience during the pathology industry consolidation and vertical integration period in the late 1990s and early 2000s. This period included two years as Executive Officer of a private surgical hospital in Sydney and as COO of a medical centre group, taking a leadership role in its recovery. Healthcare foundations were built through a number of years in clinical practice in the dental & oral surgery & medicine sector in both England & Australia, with degrees from the University of Bristol in the UK. “Hung up the Corporate boots” in October 2015 with extensive global medical device business experience to senior executive & global leadership level. At this point Ontogo Pty Ltd was created, a business development firm supporting Australian business built on local invention.
