Paul has a degree in Land Economics and spent the first few years of his career working on large-scale development projects in Australia and the US.
In 1999, his career took him to Silicon Valley to develop a real estate portal and it was here, during the dot-com boom, that he conceived some of the core ideas for pureprofile.
Paul’s experience in Silicon Valley at the height of the Internet bubble taught him to think about each person's profile as an asset, just like property. In 2000, with an eagerness to start a new company despite the bursting bubble, he returned to Sydney to set up pureprofile.
pureprofile is a consumer web service that enables individuals to build their own profile. Each person's profile contains information about their demographics, their likes and dislikes, their values and their purchasing decisions along with third party data from social networks and other online services.
Based on the answers in their profile, users (called Account Holders) are matched with research surveys that help businesses make better decisions and marketing messages that give brands the confidence of knowing they’re reaching the right people. Each user has an account and is paid in their local currency for their time and attention.
Account Holders remain in complete control and we are dedicated to building a genuine exchange between businesses and consumers.
A lot of the original vision for pureprofile was captured in Paul's 2002 patent, which is granted in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Israel and South Africa. Patents in many other markets are pending.
Paul has raised capital from some of the largest institutions, developed a proprietary technology platform to run pureprofile and built an impressive company culture.
More than 10 years on, Paul is still the driving force and pureprofile is a global business with offices in Sydney, New York, San Francisco, London and Mumbai, 1,000,000 Account Holders in 45 countries and more than 500 clients.
