David Smith is the founder of Blood UTD. An agency rooted in the culture of sport and gaming. Unlike most agencies, they go deep on their subject, to unearth the best insights, to make work that is culturally relevant, work that resonates with the sport audience on a deeper level.
Prior to Blood UTD, David was the regional creative director on Nike for the EMEA region and the global lead on EA Sports for Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam. Where he produced some of the most recognisable sport work in the world.
His work has covered everything from global campaigns to local activations, from world cups to street football, from the NBA to the NRL, from high-jumpers in Doha to ice hockey in Russia to shooting V8 cars on the hill at Bathurst.
Beyond the usual industry accolades, his work has received the attention of some of the biggest media outlets on the planet. SKY SPORTS called his team photo for Zenit FC, “the best team photo ever taken”. The Wall Street Journal called his Coca-Cola Olympics campaign, “the most memorable of the Beijing games”. Fast Company magazine said his life-size Messi project was "one of the most innovative digital experiences in 2013". While Vogue, CNN, the BBC, ESPN, Fox Soccer, Four-Four-Two, and the Guardian, have all written features on his work.
